Day 1 Kandy

ARRIVAL & TRANSFER TO KANDY | APPROX. 3.5 HRS DRIVE

Day 1 - 1

Arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, where you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka. The scenic drive passes through lush countryside, rivers, and small towns, offering a gentle introduction to the Central Highlands. Upon arrival, check in and relax after your journey. In the evening, you may enjoy a short walk around Kandy Lake or relax at the hotel preparing for the trekking adventure ahead.

Day 2 Hanthana / Galaha / Kandy

PEKOE TRAIL STAGE 01 – HANTHANA TO GALAHA | APPROX. 4–5 KM WALK

Day 2 - 1

After breakfast, proceed to the trailhead near the Hanthana Tea Museum to begin Pekoe Trail Stage 01 (Hanthana to Galaha). This gentle and scenic walk takes you through rolling tea fields, forest patches, and historic plantation paths with panoramic views over Kandy Valley. You will experience daily life of tea estate workers and enjoy peaceful mountain surroundings. After completing the walk, return to Kandy for relaxation.

Today you continue with Pekoe Trail Stage 02 (Galaha to Loolkandura), walking through deep tea estates, forest corridors, and ridgeline paths with cooler mountain air. Loolkandura is historically important as the birthplace of Sri Lankan tea cultivation. After the trek, proceed by vehicle toward Nuwara Eliya area and check in at your hotel for overnight stay.

Begin Pekoe Trail Stage 11 (Horton Plains to Udaweriya), descending gradually through misty forests and highland scenery with sweeping views of the southern plains.
